TL;DR: the short version
We don't collect personal data unless you choose to contact us. We don't use cookies. We count visits with Umami, a self-hosted analytics tool that doesn't use cookies or identify you. Your visit history lives in your browser's memory and disappears when you close the tab. Sites you choose to save stay in your own browser until you remove them, and they never reach us.
1. Who We Are
Random Site Generator ("we", "us", "our") is a web-based directory that directs users to curated third-party websites for entertainment and discovery purposes. Our site is operated at randomsitegenerator.com.

2. What Data We Collect
In operating this website, we collect the absolute minimum necessary:
- No personal data unless you contact us. Browsing the site and using the button never asks for your name, email, age, location, or any other identifying information.
- No cookies. We do not set any first-party cookies on your device.
- Privacy-friendly visit counts. We use Umami, a self-hosted analytics tool, to count visits. It records the page viewed, the site that referred you, your browser, operating system, device type, and country. It does not set cookies, and Umami's documentation says it does not collect personally identifiable information and anonymizes the data it collects. Like any server, the analytics server sees your IP address when a visit is counted, which is how your country is worked out. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any advertising trackers.
- Session-only memory. The "sites explored" counter and your visit history exist only in your browser's JavaScript memory (not localStorage, not cookies). This data is permanently destroyed when you close or refresh the tab.
- Saved sites stay on your device. If you tap the heart to save a site, that list is kept in your browser's local storage so it's still there next time you visit. It is never sent to us or anyone else. You can remove saved sites one at a time from the Saved tab, or clear them all by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
- Your theme choice stays on your device. If you switch between the light and dark theme, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers it. It is never sent to us, and clearing this site's data in your browser removes it.
If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address, subject, and message you type in, along with the name of this site. The form is processed by the contact handler at readyutilities.com, which serves all the sites run by Cedrick Reese, the person behind this one, and delivers your message to his inbox. It isn't passed to an outside form company. We use your details only to reply to you, and we don't add you to any mailing list.
3. Third-Party Websites
Our core function is to redirect you to third-party websites. Once you leave our site by clicking through to a random destination, you are entirely subject to that website's own privacy policy and data practices.
We do not control those sites, cannot monitor what they collect, and accept no responsibility for their data handling. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.
4. Server Logs
Like all websites, our hosting provider may retain standard server access logs (IP addresses, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for a limited period for security and operational purposes. We do not use these logs to personally identify users and they are not shared with third parties except where required by law.
The confetti animation on the home page is loaded from jsDelivr, a free public content delivery network (a service that hosts code files close to visitors so they load fast). When your browser downloads that file, jsDelivr receives your IP address, browser type, and the name of this site, like any server that delivers a file. jsDelivr says it does not track individual users. Its privacy policy has the details.
5. Children's Privacy
This site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
6. Changes to This Policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
7. Your Rights
Apart from messages you send us, we hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing else to access, correct, or delete. If you've contacted us and want that message and your email address removed, let us know through the contact page and we will delete it promptly.
